Sika Automotive proudly announces it will feature its innovative car body solutions at the Eurocarbody 2018 Conference and Exhibition - a major worldwide event for automotive manufacturing experts. The event is taking place October 16 through 18, at Dolce Conference Center in Bad-Nauheim, Germany.

The continuing challenges of vehicle lightweighting are being solved through the use of many new and novel materials in car body construction, including high strength steel, aluminum, magnesium and CFRP. The use of such materials requires new joining solutions and new design concepts to solve emerging challenges: delta-alpha effect of joining dissimilar materials, noise vibration harshness (NVH) issues due to intensive use of ultra-high strength steel (UHSS), use of thinner and lighter substrates, adhesion, and contact corrosion on new substrates. Safety regulations provide further challenges to the automaker as they need to maintain performance, but with less mass. As a lightweighting solution provider, Sika Automotive will present several real life manufacturing cases using SikaPower®, SikaReinforcer® and Sikaflex® that answer those performance challenges and help to reduce CO2 emissions.

Outside of lightweighting initiatives, automotive OEMs also demand further optimization of comfort and functionality for new vehicles. In response, Sika will also feature its latest innovations in acoustic solutions, including the Altair Enlighten Award-winning Ultra Lightweight Constrained Layer Damping systems.

Several current model vehicle mock-ups demonstrating the success of Sika solutions for acoustic comfort, body bonding and structural reinforcement will also be featured in the Sika booth.

Sika will be in Booth No. 2, at Kurhausfoyer to answer your questions.
