Sika Automotive is demonstrating its latest technology innovations at the Automotive
Glazing Europe 2017 conference, November 29-30, in Dusseldorf, Germany.

As an exhibitor, Sika is demonstrating its newest technologies for automotive
assembly, including:

  • SikaForce-7570 HP for elastic bonding of exteriors
  • Sikaflex-270 fast-curing exterior elastic bonding
  • SikaForce-7571 L04  for structural bonding

In addition Sika will be promoting its new SF “Safety First” series of hotmelt adhesives for automotive interiors.

The SikaMelt® SF family of products are innovative, low-monomeric isocyanate content hotmelt adhesives used for lamination applications in vehicle interiors. Based on a new
generation of reactive polyurethane chemistry, products contain lower levels of residual monomer than conventional adhesives in the market today. Lower levels of monomer help to address industry concerns currently associated with the handling of these types of products, making them safer and greener with focus on sustainability initiatives.

Also at the conference, Dirk Urbach, Sika Director and Key Project Manager, will be presenting on bonding polycarbonates.

Urbach’s presentation, "Bonding of polycarbonate with 2C PU - Safe and long term reliable solution without pre-treatment" will cover the topics of bonding substrates sensitive to ESC without pre-treatment. Additionally, he will present solvent-free adhesives and plasticizers that can guarantee a minimized risk for the bonding of polycarbonate.

Urbach is scheduled to present Thursday, November 30, from 9:30 - 10:00 AM.
